Default Chrome Rego Tube

One of the first things that can be done to a bike to tidy it up is replace the existing rego sticker holder with something more compact and far less daggy. Many people do this by putting their rego label into an aftermarket rego tube. While they are all essentially made of round clear perspex tubing, the build quality varies greatly. In most cases, price is a fair indicator of quality and after seeing a lot of crap rego tube products in the shops, I finally found the one I liked best on ebay. Here's what I got...

Definately the more expensive of the rego tubes on the market and it's not often I buy something on the net without seeing a sample of it first. However I was more than impressed with the quality and the 3 short days it took to be delivers. The seller also has other rego tube products available in a range of anodised colors too, that are a bit cheaper.

The tube itself is a thick walled perspex and comes with chromed billet molded end caps. I had the option of either bullet point (as shown) or a piston design. Both end caps also have a rubber O ring fitted to prevent water ingress and it forms a tight seal when the end caps are fitted.

The support plate is also chromed and is secured to the tube using a small grub screw that screws into the side of each end cap so they can't fall out either. The included allen key was an added bonus as mine are all over the place at the moment.

Also included is a clear piece of contact used to stick over the face of your rego sticker to allow you to slide the rego label inside the tube and position it. There are instructions included that tell you to have the large print year and month clearly visible to prevent any hassle with the authorities. I positioned mine so you could look underneath and see all the other details to.

This is it fitted into position and I'm very happy with it. I even emailed the seller to thank him which i have only ever done one before. Along with the tail tidy and fender eliminator, its really made the rear end of the bike look good - now I' should go to the gym and do the same...

Happy riding
