i leave in just under 3 weeks...

i'm going up to the town of Seventeen Seventy (yes, it's actually called that... look it up!).

so, that kills my melbourne holiday, so i guess it will be moved to next year...

i'll be looking after 4 holiday units / houses, and i'll have my own house too, with 3 bedrooms, so people are welcome to come up and stay with me (2 people max), or in the guest houses (you'd pay, of course).

i'll put the link and details up once i'm there and managing the place.

plus side - i'll be minutes from my mum, will have time to relax, cook, read and swim at the beach, including relaxing, and more relaxing, snorkelling, swimming and relaxing.

i'd love to meet a few of you on the way up, but we'll see how things go. yes, riding up! woah, big life changes!

Well last week i brought 2 garmin gps hand held units. one of them has a geocache feature, so i decided to look it up.

its an international game, of find a treasure chest, you take an item, sign a log and leave another item their.

so today for fathers day i went out and found one with my daughter, found some kids toys their, we put some back in and signed it, i even found a geocoin in one, which has a trackable number, that you take and leave at your next cache find and log it online.

and thought it was so much fun, i went to another place and found another one.

my daughter loved it, its great fun, great for kids.

you put in gps coordinates from geocaching.com or another website, you track it down to the coordinates, which are about a meter radias. then you look around with ya eyes, and find a hidden container.

bit like finding treasure, theirs over a million out their apparently.

be great got kids, got bikes, touring around the country, maybe even get some bike tags made up to exchange in the boxes...
