Nat these bikes are insane on the right roads, n I'm sure that Canuck and Rob can tempt you more with their previous experiences of NSR250's. ![]() 2-bangers are the business for shenanigans and pure enjoyment. Don't let the cc-size fool you of how much entertainment and enjoyment they offer...you know you want to join the dark-side!

2-bangers are well-wicked for the track, hence my suggestion mate so we can dice without fear of dropping our prized Euro beasts/bikes which we want to nurse into a healthy old aged without drama! I want to get an RGV for the track and keep the Mito away from the track as it's my daily ride...will do 1 or 2 trackdays and leave it plenty of margin until I can afford an RGV for a trackbike, then I'll unleash an inner-beast n we can really play! Getting a few of us 2-strokers for the track is awesome!

The RGV has the same engine as the Aprilia RS250, but not as sweet a chassis, and that I feel is going to be the difference. I've had loads of experience with both and the RS is a superior beast and inspires stupid confidence levels. I'm hoping that by the time I've got the Mito sorted, I can afford an RS for track duties, which will give maximum giggles and pucker-factor. Something to consider, but bang for your buck the RGV is untouchable. I and no-doubt many other would be keen to help with screwing the most out of it! |

That's good, stay away from the NSRs so Canuck and I can keep hoarding them
I'm guessing Mad-Biker is more of a tourer, long country roads and what not, something a stroker shouldn't really be doing. A very common misconception is that strokers are living hand grenades It's mainly because people did not understand how to look after a stroker. Most of the riders that gave them a bad name were the teenage boys that didn't know what two stroke oil was, so they rode them hard and fast and blew them up, or killed themselves (hence RGVs are known as kid killers). If they are kept relatively stock or mildly modified and fed quality two stroke oil and maintained properlythen they still have high reliability. The main problem that faces strokers now are that they are 20yo bikes, and like all older bikes, need a bit of TLC.Out of them all, the RS250 is the best package, being the newest of everything, but it carrie a bit more weight compared to the other bikes. Give me an F3 NSR/RGV over an RS any day and you'll see what a stroker can do My on topic part of the post: That's a VJ21, if you're planning on keeping it, it will need the heads shaved for unleaded fuel (or VJ22 heads), It's got the solid power valves so not as many worries about breaking pins and dropping a PV onto a piston. I can't remember if they are compatible, but I think it's better to go to VJ22 barrels as well, better porting shape. It's also got right way up forks, for those fancy pants people, you can drop the 22 forks straight in. You'd also have to check if he has the original 18" rear rim, or if he has already gone to the more commonly available 17" rim off a VJ22. Subframe is aluminium welded onto the main frame. Swingarm is the normal box shaped straight swingarm, light and funcitonal but doesn't look the good compared to a good gull arm The best part about a VJ21 is that no one wants one, but they are lighter than a VJ22 Parts are a plenty because no one wants them, and very cheap too. You can source parts through local Suzuki dealers, or through specialist 2 stroke guys (like Deet).Overall, seen as a the bike and trailer, it is a bargain at it's current listing price, someone would score a great track bike and would learn a lot about bikes out of it |

Now i dont agree with that in the slightest. I find them friendly, easy to use, just they errrrr accellerate quickly yeah thats it accellerate quickly when 7000 hits the clock
You have left out some of the other advantages, like mosquito fogging the yard while warming em up, making the neighbours aware that you are on the street, the funny looks when you KICK em to start em up

OK you guys are gonna have to stop talking up these 2 strokes as a track day bike, I have very little self control at the best of times and when people start talking things up I get all excited
....... The only thing holding me back right now is a distinct lack of cash and if I bring another bike home I think my wife will leave me ![]() I wonder how much I can get for the VFR, maybe if I sell that and get a stroker the wife wont notice.......although I guess there only little bikes so if I stick it right at the back of the shed maybe she wont see it......then again she probably will notice that more $$$ have disappeared so I'll have to think of something to explain that....maybe I could tell her I needed new tyres for the Trump....yeah that would work.....

they are replaceable
and if you are lucky you will find one that doesnt need conversation or cuddles![]() seriously tho, with strokers, its the combination of light weight, stupidly large brakes (the nsr is the same spec as the 929 fireblade) and good amounts of horse power that make em so much fun. Once your use to them, hitting the band is fun |

...and the countless hours spent in the shed tweaking carbies to get the jetting right, getting everything covered in oil, or a shed full of smoke when it kicks over for the first time.
I think they are the most rewarding bike to own because of the amount of time spent getting things right, and when it is right, the kick of the powerband and the trail of smoke. |
