I think exhaust systems really is a personal choice. Some just can't have them loud enough while others think they want loud when it can be too much. Another thing to consider is how you ride will have an impact on the frequency or loudness level you'll be exposed to the most. IE: just cruising round the city, even louder exhausts are rarely annoying, though,on the open road during long cruises a loud exhaust can resonate and become annoying to some and the sound of music to others.

For most of us, it's an educated guess we're buying the right one.

Someone's already said it, not sure who, but nothing beats hearing the exhaust you want on the same bike as yours - hard to do but ensures you're spending your money on the right product. After all you can't return it because you don't like the way it sounds.

A mate of mine as twin Leos on his R1 and sitting next to him at the lights I can't hear my bike at all. For some that would be too loud but for me that would be an ideal result.

I'm pretty sure Rod Kirby put a LV pipe on the Vespa, maybe he could provide an insight?

Yup

I did buy from the USA - LV 4Road model specifically for the Vespa GTS250ie. Amazing delivery - 4 working days from order to front door! Cost - don't ask

VERY simple install on the Vespa. As per the instructions - battery disconnect for 30 seconds after the install. ECU does its thing on startup.

Very happy with sound . Some guys in the USA remove the baffle (?).

Original ---- New LV

Thanks Rod,

The photo looks great. I know you said 'don't ask' but for comparisons sake when I talk to local suppliers, how much?

Theres an '09 R1 at our track days with Leo's...that thing is sex on wheels...the sound makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up every time it goes past. Its not the volume its the tone, its magnificent, every time I hear it or see it I want one.

And on the subject of loud...my former ride (VTR1000 with open Staintunes) could set off car alarms in underground car parks. Every now and again I'd do it on purpose...just because...oh and I could get it to spit flame too...looked cool at night.

but talking about pipes for gixxxxers, JARDINE make an unbelievable set of pipes for k5 and newer models, they are called GP1 twin pipes, 4 into 2 both coming out on the right hand side
love the look, but i rode behind one by chance the other day going over the westgate and along beach rd...... OH MY GOD the sound........ heaven, sounded racey but also very deep throbbing.... best of both worlds. all i know is that i want one, and it was honestly the best sounding note i have ever come accross, not to try say u boys bikes dont sound awesome also, just my person taste

Isnt that strange...when I first saw the GP1's I thought "yes, I must have a set for my K7" the look blew me away (still does). Then I heard one, very raucous, motogp style howl, but funnily enough I didnt like it all that much. theyre loud no doubt about it, but just a little too raspy for my liking.

Which proves once again that what one person likes, no matter how good it might be, wont necessarily work for someone else. Which is precisely what freedom of choice is all about. And thats how it should be.

yeah, deffinatly a personal choice
i thought the same thing when i started up a 600 with the pipes that was being freighted across on the ship.... and it was very "raspy" high pitched GP race sound, but when i was following the 1000 it was just insane

i dont know if it makes a big difference being in gear and moving but it was very different!
but at the end of the day its a GIXXER and thats all that matters....lol

Right on mate..gixxers rule

Hey mate is there any way you can find out where TT Line get their tie downs? I wouldnt mind getting hold of a couple of sets, they are the most secure set up I've seen.
