Serius congratulations in order Kingsley

I know in Vic you don't have to display P if on full drivers license, not sure about NSW rules though.

Congrats on passing Sirius.

You've got me worried though, we're coming up there in January, and you can ride at 90kph

Maybe we should just go somewhere else, it might be safer

Well,

I have solved the mystery. As of 1st July 2009, our esteemed Premier of NSW changed the licensing laws in respect to mature riders. Had I done my 'L' before 1st July I would be on my blacks now.

You now have to do both the pre-learner course and the P1 course, then sit on your red 'P's (displayed) for 12 months. Then I can go on my blacks.

I am 52 years of age, have 35 years driving experience, have a HR license which means I can drive any heavy vehicle with 4 or more wheels (not articulated) but I have to follow the same process as a 17 year old for 12 months.

Our Government cannot fix hositals, roads or education but they all the time in the world to think up idiotic processes like these. It makes you want to move interstate.

Oh well, if they are going to treat me like at 17 year old I might as well act like one.

Hang on, I already am

The NSW state government has always been notorious for coming up with grandiose legislative ideas that are completely irrational - and unfortunately, Sirius, you have just become a victim of such pathetic schemes.

Unfortunately, while we get to have our say at the polling booths, we always seem to be voting for an equally pathetic and spineless government.

Maybe you should write a letter telling Mr Rees that when we're paying him $300k PA, we expect him to put a little more thought into his legislative lunacy. Maybe suggest he even open his eyes a tad and look beyond his imported mahogany desk to realise that many suffer at the hands of his shortsightedness and real-world practicality.

In the meantime, Kinglsey, that just plain sux.
