Default Surprise Surprise

Hope you lot are sitting in a comfy chair cos this may take some time.

Some time ago my good lady decided that she was going to join up with a dubious group of motorcyclist to see what I got up to when she was left at home .
After almost a year and a tour of Tassie on the VFR this prompted me to look at a bigger more comfy bike( read a newer one) .
We decided that due to my new employment that we would wait until after Tassie 09 and after we have moved house to reduce my traveling.

I had my eye on Doits flying fridge but couldn't seem to get the chance take him up on the offer of a test ride on his bloody great big "scooter" with the wanky no clutchy thingy.

Next Teages gets his long awaited tourer as you have all seen a Red one cos they are after all faster. Again the offer of a test ride arose but then down came the liquid sunshine and I declined.

Next stop Andrew's birthday bash comes along and whilst Teages was still non compus the morning after I snuckout on his baby .
After getting back I swooned over the rig like a teenager after a naked Angeli Jolie.

For the past two weeks I have looked at FJ's and tried to justify to myself the cost , drooled over web pages and others bike.
After the Tanjil gig I was sure and I did accuse my wife of arranging something but she convinced me otherwise.

To satisfy my curiosity about the chosen blue color I called in to GT to " check out the color" really it was just to drool some more.

They had two blue ones in the workshop but both sold some bloke bought one but hasn't picked it up yet I am told.
Of goes the sales guy to check if its there , when he returns I am allowed to get up close and personal with not one but two Blue FJ's , pity they are both sold .
I spent the next two weeks trying to get a blue FJR at the special 07 price and I am getting told nah none in the country , yeh we got em but you have to lay down a deposit an wait but it will cost yah lots more , and NO blue for 08 .

WAHHHHHHHHTTT no blue well Fk you then .
I gave up this weekend thinking about getting a new bike pre 09 and had to work all day Saturday.

A few close mates where coming around pre Icicle ride , well so I am told . Andrew coming to get his pipe that Legend had polished and left in my garage
, when I get home after work I find more than a coupla mates all with can in hand , strange way to start an all nite ride methinks

Everyone is asking wheres the stuff for Andrew , Doit needs to take a photo for Legend web page.
"in the bloody garage for the last time on the seat of the ride on"
I proclaim as all the smokers take off outside and down the the garages and for
some reason wait for me to open the bloody door like fer shits sake it not fort Knox , just lift it and the stuff is in a box ,

After much ado I open the door and theres my new baby all dressed and ready to fly.
All those dreams and thoughts that I hadn't dared to think nor dream where now right in front of me amongst the cheers from the crowds and so much laughter that I had been had, the best kind of been had .

Thank you my darling Pixie and especially thanks to my bro Teages ,,, the shit
I have given you two in the last two weeks must have been unbearable, all I could talk about was a Blue FJ.

To think I was introduced to my bike a week before I knew it was mine , the thought ran thro my mind the previous Saturday but I told my self stop dreaming boy it doesn't happen .

Believe me it does.

SO its gonna rain for two weeks non stop as it always does when someone gets new wheels , well we gonna get wet this arvo folks ceya round and thanks again to all those that knew and didnt let on. I hope I can return the favour somehow someday.

Pics up from the linky that Pixie will no doubt post of me getting suckered.

Was great to be there and see your face, you have a very special wife, but you know that, big thanks to Pixie and Dave for the hospitality as well , bloody Jimmy stopped me from getting wet on the icicle ride.

Just enjoy it Dave, there will be many happy years with the FJR, guess we better start our own FJR forum here. Can't wait for the FJR ride day, will be a nice site.

Well we would not have missed Dave's surprise for all the tea in China.. evem though I don't like tea anyway

I don't know how Pixie, Natalie and Teage's managed to keep this one a secret, I would have been busting to let him in on the excitement

Dave is no longer a Price....the look on his fact was Priceless; a mixture of pure pleasure, an 'I knew it' look, and the 'OMG, it's really right in front of me' expression

This is going to make your rides even more pleasurable, and an absolute dream to head out on for the 09 Tassie Tour

And I figured out why Teage's was so happy to help organise the purchase....he didn't want to have to share his panniers with you next tour

May you have many long and happy miles together on the new steed
