Re: Its an outrage!
That's bullshit. What's their justification on "safety"? After all, how many people really crash on grasstree hill? *hides*
But Dim, reading the comments on the mercury, why do you want to turn the whole road to gravel?

That's the sorta road ya want.. Get used to hooning on rough roads, and when ya do get to a smooth road you can give it some real curry. Just like Sth Gippsland really..

ye olde bumpy bits is one of my 'backyard' roads, especially from longley up to lower longley/vince's saddle (which is higher), trouble is it really chews up the tyres and is icy at this time of year (and not many people keep up).

Re: Its an outrage!
I wonder how much slipperier ice is compared to the bloody green moss that grows on the south sides of the hills in Gippsland.. (or the wet quartz seal on the road out to Strathgordon when it appears at $1.60.. )
Oh, and tyres are expendable..

A NE Victorian such as myself can confidently say heaps more slippery. Done both and the moss is annoying, ice gets scary at speed. Both are a ton of laughs and giggles when they catch you by surprise though.

The bid by the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources
|
Do you tassies think thats enough work for one department? Surely you could fit more in. Perhaps they could me merged with the department of Education, Industry, Finance, Health, Dropped Coffe Mugs, Arts and the Development of Garry's kid's cubby house.
I dunno, but an entire department for only three things sounds a little inefficient to me.

Re: Its an outrage!
Its the same with the state government as well, because they reduced the amount of sitting members the ministers get several portfolios, e.g. one might be the minister for health, the minister for education at the same time as being the deputy premier (means they can be crap and do nothing about several things instead of just the one!)

Re: Its an outrage!
I never took much notice of my speed on this road. I went and did it on Friday and I was going slow enough through some corners to be comfortable to look at the speedo. I was doing over 60 through the corners! Thats why a 60 limit will ruin it.
I only have one thing to say.....this is not an outrage....
