Well today was not a good day. From 3.30 pm onwards she was complaining of terrible pain down her left leg. As the next couple of hrs went by it got worse and her leg had no color in it at all, and she lost the feeling all together and couldnt ever wriggle her toes.

The vascular doctors came in, did a scan and found a clot in her leg. They looked at me and said "if she isnt going through enough already, now this!"

They quickly ran around like headless chooks and said they have to operate immediately or her leg will die and so will she within 24hrs.

On top of that the doctors were convinced she wouldnt even make it through the operation due to all her other issues with her heart and so on...but we had to do it.

From that Bruce and the boys had 15 mins to get to the hospital to say their goodbyes without realy saying it, and they rushed her off to theatre.

She made it through the op and the clot was removed, and now back and sedated until morning. She is still critical and isnt out of the woods yet, so will go back when she wakes up

Wow its been a hell of a day l can tell you!

Thanks for your thoughts everyone. I think this weekend is going to be the last l will spend with my mum. She is very weak today, and the doctors are going to take her off some of the meds to see how she copes, and they are then going to discuss with me what l think is best.

Even the nurse said to me tonight...shes just blown away how someone so critically ill can be so alert and making jokes like she is...it just doesnt happen

I really dont want her to suffer, but l dont want to make that decision either...

Well 2moro is another day so see what happens
