THis is semi related to new posts, I just noticed after a browser crash (using firefox) that a new post I made doesnt show up on the home page (logged in) or in unread posts, but is does at the top of the main forum page under lastest threads....is there supposed to be a delay between the different 'new posts' being updated?
(yes i tried doing a cache clear refresh)

edit: this post turned up straight away, but the one for the "any given ride2" comp still hasnt...function of the new competition section?

Latest threads/posts and new posts are two different things, if you made the post, it would not come up as a new post because you have already read it.

So how come the one I made in this thread came up, but the other didnt? So the home page displays the last 10 threads with unread posts or just the latest 10 threads? (same thing happened with my latest post in the "on any given ride" thread....)

The two items you are looking at will always be displayed even if you have viewed the threads, latetst threads gets the last post and doesn't care who posted it.

New posts are a different, it looks at new posts since you last logged on and will consider what you have already viewed.

Hope this makes sense.

Makes sense, but thats not the issue I've noticed. Its that the "on Any given ride" thread does not show up in either unread posts or the home page regardless of whether I or anyone else have made a new post or regardless of whther I have or have not view the thread since logging on (viewing other threads doesnt suddenly remove them from the home page list because I've view the latest post in them)

I presume you are referring to the competitions sub-category, I will check it out, was just added and I might have copied the permissions from the wrong area and not added the new sub-category.
